Spaces & Equipment: Require 2-step email verification for a location's space / equipment bookings

One way that you can confirm that bookings were submitted by an actual person is by requiring 2-step email verification. If enabled, users will receive a verification email containing a link they must click to confirm their booking. Once they click the link in the email, the booking's status will be updated to Confirmed.

If the user doesn't confirm the booking within the designated time frame, the Tentative booking is automatically canceled by the system. However, staff can manually confirm a patron's tentative booking for a space or an equipment item from the staff interface.

Please note: the 2-step verification option is disabled when LibAuth Authentication has been enabled since email verification is inherent in the authentication process.
  1. Go to Admin > Spaces & Equipment.

  1. Under the Locations tab, click on the location's edit () icon in the Action column.

  1. Under the General tab, use the 2 Step Email Verification dropdown to select a verification time limit.
    • When you select a time limit from the dropdown, new bookings will be added with a Tentative status.
    • Users will have to confirm their booking within the selected time frame, or else the system will automatically cancel it.
    • If you do not want to require 2-step email verification, select No confirmation needed.
  2. Click the Save button at the bottom of the General panel.
