Events: Add a registration alert and limit registrations to certain email domains

In this article

Registration alert

When registration is enabled for an event, you can set up an alert that notifies the event's organizer that registration is almost full. By default, no alert is sent. However, you can choose to send Registration Alert at a certain threshold -- anywhere from 5 seats remaining to when the event is completely full.

  1. Click on Events from the command bar.
  2. Click on the calendar's title from the Modify/View Calendar column on the Calendar List tab.

  2. In the Registration Alert panel, click on the current Send an Email Alert to The Event Organizer setting to customize the threshold.

Restrict Event Registrations by Email Domain(s)

One way to restrict who can register for your events is by limiting registrations to certain email domain names (using LibAuth to restrict event registrations is the other). When this setting is enabled, users will be unable to register for your event unless they enter an email address containing one of the domain names you specify.

For example, if you want to limit registrations to students and the email domain for students is @students.springyu.edu, this option would only allow users with a @students.springyu.edu to submit your registration form. You can also enter springy.edu, which will allow the example above and all other sub-domains of springyu.edu to register -- similar to a wildcard match.

  1. Click on Events from the command bar.
  2. Click on the calendar's title from the Modify/View Calendar column on the Calendar List tab.
