Equipment: Automatically ban users who have outstanding equipment booking fines

In this article

To manage your equipment & space booking settings, go to Admin > Spaces & Equipment > Settings.

Navigating to the settings page

User Banning

When a user has overdue equipment or has accrued a certain amount of fines from overdue equipment, you can configure LibCal to automatically ban them until they return the items or pay their fines. Although the overdues and fines originate in the Equipment module, banned users will be prevented from placing both equipment and space bookings.

  1. If you would like to ban users who have one or more overdue items, set the Ban For Overdue option to "Yes".
  2. If you would like to ban users who have overdue fines, set the Ban For Fines option to "Yes".
  3. If you have enabled the Ban for Fines option, you can specify at what dollar amount the ban will take effect in the Ban Fines Amount field. If you leave this at zero, then a fine of any amount will trigger the ban.
  4. When a banned user attempts to submit a booking, they will receive an on-screen error message. You can customize the text of this in the Error Message field.
  5. Click the Save button.
