Equipment: Navigating the booking availability grid

To manage your equipment bookings, click on Equipment in the navigation bar and go to the Booking Grid & Availability tab.

Selecting a location and category

  1. At the top of the page, use the dropdown to select the location containing the equipment you want to view.
  2. Under the Booking Grid & Availability tab, select the category of equipment you want to view from the Category dropdown and click the Go button. This will display the booking grid for items in that category.

Browsing dates in the booking grid

  1. Once you've selected a category, you can browse bookings for each item by date. To pick a new date, click on the Go To Date button and select a new date from the calendar.
  2. Use the Previous () and Next () buttons to navigate between date periods.
    • For items that book by the hour: you can view bookings three days at a time.
    • For items that book by the day: you can view bookings four weeks at a time.
  3. Click on the Refresh () button if you want to refresh the availability slots. This can be helpful if you want to check and see if any new bookings have been submitted since you first loaded the page.
  4. Use the Scroll Bar to view all dates in the current period.

Viewing item availability

Availability slots will be color coded to indicate whether an item is available, has been booked, or checked out.

Status Meaning
Available The item is still available to be booked during this time slot.
Checked Out The user who booked the item currently has the item checked out.
Confirmed A user has confirmed their booking request for this item.
Confirmed (Payment Pending) A user has confirmed their booking request for this item but has not paid for the booking yet.
Mediated Approved Library staff have approved this mediated booking request.
Mediated Approved (Payment Pending) Library staff have approved this mediated booking request but the user has not paid for the booking yet.
Mediated Tentative The mediated booking request is still awaiting review by library staff.
Padding The item cannot be booked during this time because of the padding added to bookings in this category.
Tentative A user has submitted a booking request for this item but has not yet confirmed the booking.
Unavailable The item cannot be booked during this time because the item is unavailable.

Previewing a booking

To preview information about a booking, including the name of the patron and booking dates, hover over the booking in the availability grid. A tooltip will appear showing you basic info about the booking. To view more detailed info and make changes, click on the availability time.
