Appointments: Subscribing to your Appointments iCal feed

If you'd like to display your upcoming appointments in Outlook, Google Calendar, or another calendar app, one option is to subscribe to your personal iCal subscription feed. LibCal will provide you with two URLs to choose from:

  • Only show Appointments: this will only include events for booked appointments.
  • Shows Available times & Appointments: this will include both booked appointments and your open availability times.

When an appointment is added to your Appointments schedule, it'll be synced to your iCal feed. Typically, your feed will be updated every 15 minutes. However, how soon your calendar app reflects these changes depends upon how frequently it updates subscribed calendars. Please consult your calendar app's documentation for more information on refreshing calendar subscriptions.

Locating your iCal subscription URLs

  1. Log into LibCal and click on Appointments in the navigation bar.
  2. On the Appointments page, click on the Widget/Embed Code tab.
  3. Click on the iCal Subscription panel to expand it.
  4. Click on the feed URL you want to use. This will highlight the entire URL automatically.
    • Only show Appointments: this will only include events for booked appointments.
    • Shows Available times & Appointments: this will include both booked appointments and your open availability times.

Navigating to a user's iCal subscription URLs

  1. Copy the selected URL and add it to your calendar app. If you're not sure how to do this in your calendar app, check out its documentation for more info. Here are some documentation links for a few of the most common calendar apps.
