Campaign Overview

Under the Campaign Overview tab, you'll find the following statistics:

  • Delivered: the total number of emails successfully delivered to recipients. This includes the percentage of emails delivered out of all emails sent.
  • Opened: the total number of delivered emails there were opened by recipients. This includes open rates and the average time it took a recipient to open the email.
  • Clicked: if your email body contained links, this is the total number of unique clicks on links within the email sent. This also includes percentage rates for the number of recipients that clicked through and click-to-open, as well as total clicks (not unique) and the time of the most recent click.
  • Bounced: the total number of emails that were undeliverable. This includes the percentage of emails that bounced out of all emails sent and totals for hard and soft bounces.

Performance

Below the overview statistics is the Performance chart for the email campaign. This chart displays the unique clicks and unique opens for the email over 1, 8, 12, and 24-hour windows of time from the sending of the campaign. The performance plotting allows you to gauge the timing (and totals) of when recipients engaged with your email.

Clicked

Under the Clicked tab, you'll be able to search and browse a list of each recipient that clicked on at least one link (if links were present) in the email. For each recipient, you'll find the recipient's name (click on their name to view their LibConnect profile), email address, the number of times they clicked on a link, profile type, and their selected categories of interest.

For each recipient, you can click on their Clicks column number to see the specific details of each link they clicked on in the email when viewing the list by Profile. Alternatively, when viewing the report list by Link you can see each link in the email showing the Unique Clicks and Total Clicks (click on the column number to see the profiles that clicked on the link) for each link.

Additionally, you'll also see Click-Through Rate and Click-to-Open Rate percentages. Click-through rate is the percentage of recipients who clicked on at least one link in your email. The click-to-open rate percentage compares the number of unique clicks to unique opens. This number indicates how effective the email message, design, and content performed, and whether it created enough interest in the recipient to take action.

  1. Use the View List By dropdown to toggle the report between showing the clicks by Profile or by Link.

Bounced

Under the Bounced tab, you'll be able to search and browse a list of each recipient that did not receive the email. For each recipient, you'll find the (unsuccessful) recipient's name (click on their name to view their LibConnect profile), email address, the type of bounce (hard or soft), profile type, and their selected categories of interest.

Hard bounces indicate that there is a permanent failure with the email being delivered, resulting in LibConnect being unable to send the email to the recipient. Some common reasons an email may hard bounce:

  • The recipient's email address doesn't exist.
    • If you suspect this might be the case, you could double-check the person's email address in their profile for typos or try to locate an alternative email address, then update their profile accordingly.
  • The recipient's email server has completely blocked delivery.

Soft bounces indicate that there is a temporary failure with delivering the email to a recipient. One of the most common soft bounce failures is when a recipient's inbox is full. Some common reasons an email may soft bounce:

  • The recipient's mailbox is full.
  • The recipient's email server is temporarily down or offline
  • The recipient's mailbox isn't configured correctly.

While there isn't much you can do to clear out a recipient's inbox, LibConnect will make a number of attempts to deliver the email to a recipient flagged as a soft bounce. In the event that the temporary failure isn't resolved, the soft bounce will switch to being counted as a hard bounce for the recipient.
