Add and manage blog post comments
The great thing about blogs is that your readers can leave comments. This allows you to build discussions around your posts, respond to feedback, and engage your audience.
Who can comment on posts?
Anyone who has a LibApps account in your LibGuides site can comment. This includes:
- System Accounts (Admin, Regular, Editor, and Contributor)
- Patron Accounts
Whenever someone leaves a comment or reply on a post, the post's author will receive an email notification that includes the timestamp and text of the comment.
Viewing a post's comments
To navigate to a post's comments section, click on the Comments link below its title.
Adding a comment
When viewing a full post, click on the Add a Comment link at the end of the post.
If you're not currently logged into LibApps, you'll be prompted to log in before adding a comment to the post. Once you're finished, your comment will be added to the thread.
Replying to Comments
To reply to a comment in the thread, click on the post's Reply link. Your reply will be nested under the post, making it easy to follow the thread.
Need to fix some typos in a comment? Remove some text? Or delete a comment altogether? Here's how:
- To edit a comment: click on the Edit () button in the comment and select Edit Post. This will bring up the Rich Text Editor, allow you to edit the text as needed.
- To delete a comment: click on the Edit () button in the comment and select Delete Post. If the comment has been replied to, you'll be given the choice to delete the comment and all of its replies, or delete only that comment but retain the replies.
