Shifts: Edit a shift (single shifts or recurring shifts)

Edit a recurring shift

To edit all instances of the shifts in a recurring shift at once: 

  1. Click on Schedules from the command bar.
  2. Select the schedule you want to edit from the Select Schedule dropdown.
  3. Click on the shift that you want to edit.

  1. In the shift assignment window, click on the Edit Shift button.

  1. At the top of the Edit Shift window, make sure that the From This Date Forward option is selected so that the changes are applied to all future occurrences of the shift.
    • Note: You will only see the option to choose what shifts in the series to edit when you are editing a shift that is part of a recurring series.
  2. Make the changes to the shift that are needed.
    • You can make edits to the Shift Name, Shift Color, Start and End time, Auto-Scheduler Maximums per week, Minimum # of People, Enable/Disable Shift Claiming (when enabled for the Schedule), Position selections for the shift, Tasks and Notes, and all of the Recurrence settings.
    • Caution: if you change the shifts times or recurrence options, all future shifts in the series will become unassigned.

  3. Click the Save Shift or Save & Assign Staff button to save your changes.
    • The Save Shift option will take you back to the calendar for the schedule.
    • The Save & Assign Shift option will take you directly to the modal for assigning staff to the shift.

Edit a single shift

To edit a single instance of a recurring shift or a standalone shift: 

  1. Click on Schedules from the command bar.
  2. Select the schedule you want to edit from the Select Schedule dropdown.
  3. Click on the shift that you want to edit.

  1. When the shift assignment window appears, click on the Edit Shift button.

  1. In the Edit Shift modal, make sure that This Date Only is selected so that the changes are only applied to the single occurrence of the shift you are working with.
    • Note: You will only see the option to choose what shifts in the series to edit when you are editing a shift that is part of a recurring series.
  2. Make the changes to the shift that are needed.
    • You can make edits to the Shift Name, Shift Color, Start and End time, Minimum # of People, Enable/Disable Shift Claiming (when enabled for the Schedule), Position selections for the shift, and Tasks and Notes.
  3. Click Save Shift or Save & Assign Staff to save the shift.
    • The Save Shift option will take you back to the calendar for the schedule.
    • The Save & Assign Shift option will take you directly to the modal for assigning staff to the shift.
