Restricting access to LibStaffer by IP address

Access rules allow you to restrict access to your site to certain IP addresses. Admin users can add multiple rules to your LibStaffer site, with each allowing you to restrict access to a specific IP address or a range of IP addresses. For example, if you wanted to ensure that only people on your campus could access the system, then you could create a rule that covers the IP range for your campus.

Adding an access rule

  1. Go to Admin > System Settings.
  2. Click on the Access Rules tab.
  3. Click on the Add IP Access Rule button.
  4. Enter the starting IP address that will be allowed to access your system.
  5. Entering the ending IP address that will be allowed to access your system.
    • All users with IP addresses within this range will be allowed to access your LibStaffer.
    • If you only want to add a single IP address, enter the same address in both the Starting IP and Ending IP fields.
  6. Optionally, you can leave a brief note in the Description field. This can help you more easily identify what this range or address is for.
  7. Click the Save Rule button.
