Tutorials: Collect user agent information with each submission

In this article

When a user submits a tutorial, you have the option to collect their user agent information, too. This includes the user's:

  • IP address (which can help identify local users)
  • Referrer (the URL the tutorial was submitted from)
  • Browser (especially helpful if fielding tech support questions)

If enabled, this data will be included with each submission in your tutorial's reports.

To customize which data to collect for your tutorial:

  1. While editing your tutorial, under the Tutorial Options tab, click on the Reporting panel to expand it.
  2. Select the data you want to collect with each submission.
    1. Select the Collect IP checkbox to collect each user's IP address.
    2. Select the Collect Referrer checkbox to collect the URL where the survey was submitted from.
    3. Select the Collect Browser checkbox to collect the browser used to submit the quiz.
  3. Click the Save Changes button at the top of the page.
