Look & Feel: Add custom JavaScript and CSS code to your LibAnswers system

In this article

Another way you can customize the look & feel of your site is by adding custom JavaScript and CSS code. This gives you a lot of flexibility to customize things like fonts, background colors, buttons, etc., on your public pages. If you're using a custom header or custom footer, this is also the best place to insert any CSS code or scripts that you may need. Any code you add will be inserted before the end of the <head> element of your public pages.

When you add custom JavaScript and CSS code at the system level, it will be inherited by all of your groups. However, within each FAQ group's look & feel settings, you'll have the option of excluding it and/or adding other code, instead. This can help you create groups that have a unique style and branding.

IMPORTANT NOTE: jQuery is already loaded into every LibAnswers page. Please avoid adding any <script> elements that also include the jQuery library (i.e. jquery.min.js), as this will cause errors and break page functionality.
  1. Go to Admin > System Settings.
  2. Click the Look & Feel tab.
  3. Enter your code in the Custom JS/CSS Code text box.
    • If adding CSS code, make sure to place it between <style></style> tags.
    • If adding JavaScript code, make sure to place it between <script></script> tags.
  4. Click the Save button.
