Look & Feel: Customize your LibGuides favicon

In this article

For sites that would like to use their institution's favicon (the small icon that appears next to your site name in browser tabs and bookmarks) in place of LibGuides' default favicon, custom favicon code can be added to override the default. This makes it easier to include your site's custom branding and can help make it easier for patrons to identify your site when looking at multiple tabs or bookmarks.

When custom favicon code is in place for your site, it will be used as the favicon for all public LibGuides pages, including groups.

  1. Go to Admin > Look & Feel.
  2. Under the Header / Footer / Tabs / Boxes tab, go to the Favicons panel (click to expand it if needed).
  3. Enter the code for your favicon in the Favicon HTML box.
    • To revert back to using the default favicons, clear any code from this box.
  4. Click Save HTML.
