Manage the email & SMS alerts you receive from LibStaffer

LibStaffer can send you email and/or SMS notifications for things like given up shifts, swap requests, pending time off, etc. You can manage which ones you would like to receive from your LibStaffer user account settings.

You can choose to receive each specific alert by email, SMS, email & SMS, or not at all. System-level Admin users can also edit these options for all other users by going to Admin > Accounts.


Managing your notifications

To view and change your alert preferences:

  1. Click on your email address in the orange command bar.
  2. On the Manage Account page, click on the Email & SMS Alerts tab.

Email alerts

Email notifications will always be sent to the email address of your LibApps user account. To change it, click on the Manage Account tab, then click the Go to LibApps button (learn more).

  1. Under the Email Notify column, use the "Yes" checkboxes to toggle whether or not you want to receive a particular alert via email. These changes are saved automatically and take effect immediately.
    • When "Yes" is selected: you will receive notifications of this type for all schedules you're assigned to.
    • When the checkbox is not selected: you will not receive future notifications of this type from any schedule you're assigned to.

SMS Alerts

Add or change your phone number

Before you can receive SMS alerts, you must first add and verify your SMS phone number.

  1. Under the Email & SMS Alerts tab, the SMS Number used for notifications will indicate which number is currently active, if any. To add or change this number, click on the Edit link.

  1. In the SMS Alerts Phone # Setup window, enter the SMS Phone Number you want to use.
    • Please enter only the digits (no hyphens, periods, etc.), preceded by your country code (e.g. 15551234567).
  2. Click the Continue button.

  1. LibStaffer will attempt to identify your carrier based upon the number you entered. If needed, please select your carrier from the Mobile Carrier dropdown.
    • See the list of Supported Mobile Carriers below for a current list of carriers that we support.
    • If your carrier is not listed, contact the Springy Support Team and we will do our best to add support for it in the future.
  2. Click the Confirm Carrier button.

  1. You'll receive an SMS message that contains a unique code. Type that into the Verification Code text box.
  2. Click the Finish Setup button.

Once the verification is successful, the Email & SMS Alerts page will update to indicate your phone number and the SMS Notify checkboxes will be enabled.

Removing your number from SMS alerts

If you would like to completely remove your number from LibStaffer, ending all SMS alerts:

  1. Click on the Edit link next to your phone number.
