LibAnswers

Chat Co-ops

Not a co-op member? Learn more in LibChat co-ops: everything you need to know.

  • Co-op Admin users can now display an admin alert message on the co-op's dashboard page. When a message is posted, it'll display to all co-op users under Dasbhoard > Announcements.
  • Insitution Admin and Co-Op Admin users will see a new Institution Activity report. This provides a breakdown of hours & minutes covered by each institution for a particular date range. Co-op Admins will see data for all institutions in the co-op, while Institution Admins will see data only for their library.
  • In each local LibAnswers system, Admin users will now be able to see a list of their institution's co-op memberships under Admin > System Settings > General > Co-op Memberships. This will display each co-op and the type of coverage it provides.

LibChat

  • When transferring a chat to another operator, you will now see the number of chats each operator is engaged in. In addition, you'll find a button that lets you launch an internal chat with that operator so you can more easily check in with them before completing the transfer.
    • Are you a co-op member? When transferring a co-op chat, you'll also see the operators list grouped by the patron's home library, then other co-op member libraries.
  • When viewing the Admin > LibChat Set-Up > Who's Online page, you'll now see the number of active chats each online operator is engaged in.
    • Are you a co-op member? In addition to each local department an operator is monitoring, you'll also see which co-op(s) they are monitoring, as well.
  • Now when you launch the in-chat FAQ search, it'll open in a new tab within the chat pane, rather than a modal window on top of the chat. You'll also find an option to pop out the FAQ search into a separate browser window/tab.
  • When creating or editing an in-page, button, slide-out, or floating chat widget, the new "Enable patrons to submit follow-up Ticket request" option allows you to turn automatic ticket prompts on or off. When enabled, patrons will be given the option to submit a ticket for follow up when a chat is ended or disconnected, or when all operators are currently set to Away.

LibCal

API (Endpoints v1.1)

  • The new /events/:id/registrations API v1.1 endpoint allows you to get registrations for one or more events, with an optional parameter to retrieve waitlisted registrations.

Calendars

  • On public event pages, users now have the option to add an event to their Google Calendar.
  • When an event has registration enabled and allows attendees to register multiple guests, event organizers will now be able to do the same when managing the event's attendees.
  • When creating a daily, weekly, or monthly repeating event, the End Date is now limited to 4 years from the event's Start Date (i.e. if the repeating event starts on 1/1/20, you can choose an end date up to 1/1/24).
    • One-time events and repeating events using the multi-date picker option no longer have future date restrictions.
    • However, if you select a start date more than two years in the future, a warning will appear letting you know (in case you accidentally selected the wrong year).
    • A similar warning will appear if you select a start date that occurs in the past.

Equipment bookings

  • When billing is enabled and a booking has a charge applied, staff users can now cancel the charge by entering 0 in the booking's Cost Override window. When overriding a charge, staff now have the option to send the user an email confirmation, as well.
  • When viewing Equipment statistics, users will now be able to view a per-location, per-category, and per-item summary of unique users, total bookings, time available, time booked, and average booking duration.

Spaces bookings

  • When billing is enabled and a booking has a charge applied, staff users can now cancel the charge by entering 0 in the booking's Cost Override window. When overriding a charge, staff now have the option to send the user an email confirmation, as well.
  • When viewing Spaces statistics, users will now be able to view a per-location, per-category, and per-space summary of unique users, total bookings, time available, time booked, and average booking duration.
  • When using the Microsoft OAuth method to sync a space with an Outlook room resource, you now have the option of entering a specific room resource's address (i.e. room105@mylibrary.org) if you have the necessary sharing permissions.

LibCRM

Operational emails & distribution lists

  • Introducing the new operational emails feature! This allows you to send emails from LibCRM to one or more recipients from your people profiles, with built-in analytics for tracking deliveries, bounces, and link clicks.
  • To make sending operational emails easier, you can create distribution lists containing multiple person profiles. This can be helpful if you want to send emails to large numbers of recipients at once.
  • Coming soon: our Marketing Emails module -- stay tuned to our blog for the latest announcements!

Integrations

  • The LibCal and LibAnswers integrations will now import all interactions for each new and existing profile in your system. You are no longer limited only to an initial import of interactions from the past 24 hours.

Calendaring datasets

  • For calendaring datasets connected to a LibCal system, your space booking statistics are now included! If your library subscribes to the Equipment Bookings module, you'll also find your equipment booking stats, as well!
    • What about past data? Since this is a new integration, we will need a little time to pull in all of the past data once this code is on our production servers (i.e., the servers you use!), so you won’t necessarily see all of your past data the moment the functionality exists in your system. There’s a lot of past data available since LibCal is a heavily used product, so please bear with us as we populate past data for all sites in all regions.
    • What about future data? Data from the release point onward will update in your system each day, just as the Events and Appointments data do. It is just the backfill of past data that is going to take a bit of time to complete. We appreciate your patience as we make this happen for you!
    • What about our old Room Bookings data? If you've switched from the legacy Room Bookings module to Spaces, that data will remain in a separate Room Bookings category in your dataset.

Dashboards

  • New charting options are available for custom datasets! When you select a numeric, currency, or calculated field as a chart's Y-Axis, you can now choose a multi-select field to chart on the X-Axis. This will present you with a cross-tab style chart showing the distribution of the numeric/currency/calculated field across each of the multi-select field's options.
    • For example, if you have a custom dataset tracking your instruction sessions, you could create a chart showing the total number of students (numeric field) taught by each librarian (multi-select field).
    • Pro tip: if your multi-select field has more than a few options, consider adding it to a wide (single chart) dashboard row. This will make it easier for all of the options to display along the X-Axis.

Fields

  • In addition to dragging and dropping, you can now reorder fields in the workpad using a dropdown menu. Simply select the new position for a field and it will update automatically.
  • We've made improvements to the way ratings fields display on your public forms, surveys, quizzes, and tutorials:
    • When using the slider option, users will see the current value display above the dot as they drag it left & right. The selected value will also display in a numeric input field next to the slider, allowing users to see & change the value that way.
    • When using the radio option with a horizontal layout, each radio button will display along an axis, with the label displaying above or below it (your choice!).

Forms, Surveys, Quizzes, & Tutorials

  • In the Advanced Email Settings for your form, survey, quiz, or tutorial, you now have the option to customize the subject line for email notifications.

Quizzes & Tutorials

  • When adding a dropdown, radio, checkbox, or image choice field to your quiz or tutorial, you can now display a different feedback message for each field option. This option can be found under each field's Answer Properties tab.

Tutorials

  • In addition to dragging and dropping, you can now reorder slides using a new dropdown menu. Simply select the new position for a slide and it will update automatically.
