Customizing the column layout of a page

When using a tabbed navigation layout for your guide, you'll have the ability to change the size and layout of the columns on each page. If desired, you can even configure each page of your guide to have a different number of columns.

The only exception is if you are using a custom tabbed navigation template that is not using the {{content}} keyword. In that case, you will be forced to use a specific column layout specified in the template and will not see the option to customize the columns in your guide.

Please note that all side-navigation templates (including the system default) are locked into a specific number of columns, so you will not see the option to customize the columns for side-navigation guides.

Selecting a column layout

  1. While editing your guide, click on the page you want to customize in your guide's navigation menu (i.e. tabs or side-navigation).
  2. Click on the  Layout menu, which is adjacent to the Page URL above your guide's content columns.
    • If you do not see this menu, then you are using a template that does not allow you to customize the column layout.
  3. Select the desired column layout from the dropdown. The numbers for each column indicate the percentage width, so a 3-column 25 / 50 / 25 layout will result in 3 columns, with a width of 25% for column 1, 50% for column 2, and 25% for column 3.
  4. In the Redirect URL field, enter the full URL (including the http(s)://) to the page you're linking to.
    1. To create your own custom column sizes, click on Custom Column Widths.
    2. Select the number of columns you want.
    3. Then, drag the sliders to change the size of each column.
